Spring greetings to our Viking Boat Harbor customers! We hope you had a wonderful Winter season and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon!

As always, there are many wonderful things I would like to share with you. One of which is, as many of you may know, there has been a group of dedicated individuals in the Les Cheneaux area who have been heavily involved with the Department of Environmental Quality and the Army Corps of Engineers in an ongoing effort to get the Les Cheneaux Islands on the priority list of shallow harbors to be dredged.

We were recently informed that not only had this group received attention, they have managed to get the Les Cheneaux Islands moved up to a priority status. What does this mean? It means that dredging will be happening this year. Plans are to start once the fish spawning season has finished, approximately July 1st.

The dredging project will include areas from the pilings in front of the Cedarville RV Park to Islington Point, parts of the navigable channel from Islington Point to Connors Point, and some other miscellaneous areas in the Islands that are in need of dredging. It is hopeful that there will also be a dredged channel from the Cedarville launch ramp to the navigable channel in Cedarville Bay.

Also of note is that the Cedarville Public Launch ramp will be closed at the time of dredging, as this is where the barges will be offloading the dredged materials.

Stacy and I, along with the fourth generation Honnila family member, our daughter Elaena, look forward to welcoming you back.

The Viking Family is very happy to welcome you back and to offer the same hardworking and helpful crew. Steve, Linda, Dale, Rick and Mike are here to help you, as well as the welcomed return of Rob Burger.

Some of you may remember Rob from many seasons ago and fortunately he has returned to Viking with his beautiful craftsmanship and positive attitude.

A Spring Commissioning Work Request is enclosed or you can print from our website. Please complete and return to us at least two weeks before you would like your boat launched.

Office and Dock Hours will remain Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm and weekends between Memorial Day and LAbor Day, Saturdays 9am to 4pm and Sundays noon to 3pm.

If you will not be launching your boat this season, please take advantage of this time to perform any maintenance or updates you may wish your boat to have.

Docking Spaces can be reserved with a 25% deposit. If you have any questions, please call us or email Linda.
